Armstrong Appointments is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site Engineer to join our team. As a Site Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in driving project success and ensuring compliance with engineering specs, industry standards, and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee and coordinate all aspects of construction project management, including site inspections, quality control, and cost control.
- Ensure compliance with engineering specs, industry standards, and regulations, and foster seamless communication with contractors, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
- Manage and supervise construction projects from start to finish, ensuring adherence to project plans and specifications.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, architects, and subcontractors to ensure timely project completion.
- Manage Site Engineers and Foremen on multiple projects, maintain productivity on site, and represent the company at project and technical meetings.
- Analyzing and interpreting engineering drawings, survey reports, and other technical documentation to guide the construction process.
- Reporting project updates, milestones, and potential risks to the project manager and key stakeholders.
- Providing technical guidance and expertise to resolve construction-related challenges.
- Understanding construction details, drawing up method statements, and conducting site inspections related to all trades in line with QA policy.
- Managing record keeping on site, including cubes, test results, delivery notes, and managing all foremen and staff on site.
- Planning and overseeing allocating resources, materials, and equipment to optimize project efficiency, monitoring project costs, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Place orders for approval, manage breakages and materials stock, and maintain and issue variances/instructions to QS.
- Substantiate capital expenditure and hire costs if required, have fortnightly reports concluded timeously, and ensure adjustments to programme are justified by delays and/or EOT's.
- Check QA sheets and site QA weekly, sign off on it, draft IRS for checking and updating, and submit EOT's, NOPD's, etc. under guidance of CM/PM/Site Agent.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including progress reports, site diaries, change orders, and quality control measures.
- A bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an accredited university or college.
- 4-5 years of experience as a site engineer, civil engineer, or an equivalent role.
- Demonstrated proficiency in managing and supervising construction projects.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and other software.
- Ability to manage multiple construction projects at various stages of their lifecycle.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
- Competent in assessing, interpreting, and presenting survey reports and other critical data for stakeholders and shareholders.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities with effective communication.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
- Attention to detail and a focus on delivering high-quality results.
- Thorough knowledge of the Building Code, safety regulations, and standards.
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and management skills.
- Knowledge of sustainable construction practices.
- Understanding of budgeting and cost control.
