Overview:
RPO Recruitment is currently seeking two experienced Site Engineers dedicated to ensuring the successful execution of high-quality construction projects within established timelines and budgets. This role requires effective coordination among all stakeholders and the implementation of efficient processes and solutions to optimize project performance and cost management during the construction phase.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Risk Management:
    Identify and proactively address potential risks throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop risk assessments and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Focus on opportunities for cost reduction and risk mitigation.
  • Engage in peer reviews and both internal and external audits.
  • Planning and Organization:
  • Apply construction planning techniques and methodologies effectively.
  • Collaborate with the Site Agent and Planner to create and maintain project schedules.
  • Communicate program requirements clearly and accurately.
  • Coordinate site preparation activities and implement work plans.
  • Strategically manage project execution to enhance collaboration between site and office teams.
  • Oversee planning, costing, and contract management procedures.
  • Ensure ongoing work aligns with contractual obligations while minimizing waste and overtime.
  • Project Execution:
  • Monitor overall project progress, costs, quality, and safety compliance.
  • Ensure adherence to established quality standards.
  • Contribute actively to cost control measures.
  • Manage construction equipment and resources efficiently.
  • Enforce compliance with drawings and specifications to ensure timely project delivery.
  • Systematically coordinate work and identify cost-effective solutions for equipment usage.
  • Collaborate with the Client's Resident Engineer and Clerk of Works for timely inspections and quality approvals.
  • Address queries related to construction information provided by the professional team.
  • Track and manage sample and shop drawing approvals.
  • Prioritize long lead items to prevent project delays.
  • Reporting:
  • Prepare comprehensive management reports highlighting both positive and negative project variations.
  • Detail actions taken to mitigate impacts on project timelines.
  • Assist in the preparation of Contract Reports.
  • Provide technical support to fulfill client requirements.
  • Maintain a daily site diary to collate necessary information.
  • Update a delay diary to effectively manage project schedules.

Qualifications:

  • BSc in Engineering or Construction Management relevant to the construction sector.
  • Professional Registration with SACPCMP.
  • 3-5 years of relevant on-site experience as a Site Engineer on significant building projects.
