About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Product Owner to join our team at Kerridge Commercial Systems. As a Product Owner, you will be responsible for taking ownership of the product backlog and managing the delivery of new features or fixes for our business management solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Be the go-to product contact for the development team and be available to carry out demos and lead requirement gathering or story mapping workshops with customers and stakeholders.
  • Elicit customer and stakeholders' requirements, translating them into features, with architect guidance, and product backlog items that can be worked on by the Development Team to meet the acceptance criteria.
  • Manage, refine, and prioritize the product backlog determined by Product Management to ensure it is in a healthy state to aid with release planning.
  • Actively participate and contribute in all Agile team ceremonies to help coach the team on what the minimal viable solution needs to achieve in order to solve the users' problem.
  • Set sprint goals for the Development Team and manage and report any release delivery risk (quality or timescales, etc.) to Product/Project Management teams so they can manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Review any release documentation before it is published by the Development Team to ensure it articulates change benefits and carry out any user acceptance testing before any release is completed.
Requirements
  • Experience in working with different levels of people of low or high technical ability to solicit requirements with a focus on the problem and value statements, not the end solution.
  • Experience in creating, maintaining, and prioritizing product backlogs using product management tools (e.g., JIRA or Azure DevOps).
  • Experience in working within an Agile delivery framework for business management software development companies (e.g., Scrum or Kanban).
  • Experience in leading, developing, and coaching a team to build a collaborative self-organized culture and team spirit.
  • Working knowledge of overall software development life cycle processes and best practices (e.g., development, testing, and deployment).
  • Working knowledge of the Kerridge Commercial Services markets/customers and use cases in which our core ERP products are present.

  • The ability to communicate clearly requirements effectively from both a functional and non-functional perspective to form any acceptance criteria and delivery for the team.
  • The ability to build and maintain strong and trusted relationships with both your team and key stakeholders.
  • The ability to influence and motivate stakeholders and team members to achieve objectives.
  • The ability to facilitate and lead any required team or stakeholder workshops with objective purpose.
  • The ability to act decisively and communicate direction to the team on any priorities or risks.
  • The ability to adapt to change and successfully manage risk while reducing any impact on velocity.
  • The ability to prioritize, organize, and plan their work and to seek improvement where required.
  • Must have a pro-active, positive, open, and collaborative approach to working with others in a team.
  • Must be open to learning new skills and self-development to drive both personal and team growth.
  • Must be comfortable in giving feedback at all levels with integrity as well as receiving it to build trust.
