Job Description:

As a key member of our team at Staff Solutions Recruitment, you will play a critical role in ensuring the optimal management of our inventory and supply chain operations.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective inventory management strategies to minimize costs and maximize efficiency.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate favorable terms and ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement in our supply chain operations.
  • Implement and maintain a controlled ordering system to ensure accurate and timely placement of orders.
  • Ensure 100% availability of goods and minimal cost of transportation.
  • Balance material availability, inventory turns and freight.
  • Ensure data accuracy (stocks, bill of material and planning figures).
  • Generate reports on supplier delivery performance and excess/slow moving stock audit.
  • Implement and maintain a control system for customs documentation and imported stock.
  • Coordinate the delivery of containers to warehouse and ensure necessary documentation is handed over.
  • Assist receiving department with processing queries of supplier documents and Finance department with supplied parts-related queries.
  • Process SMRR documents and advise Freight Forwarders on parts collection and transport method.
  • Maintain verification and control system with warehouses of purchased components.
  • Implement weekly control of ECR changes in accordance with BOS and balance out claims.
  • Implement control of premium freight charges in accordance with BOS and plant requirements.
  • Assist with regular static data audits on MFG PRO to maintain up-to-date database.
  • Develop plans for inventory reduction and cost savings without compromising service levels.

Requirements:

  • Post-Matric qualification in Logistics or Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in Automotive/Factory Environment is preferable.
  • Knowledge of Logistics policies and procedures and material flow concepts (FIFO, KANBAN, JIT, and JTDS).
  • Experience in Freight Transportation and/or Engineering Work Studies is preferable.
  • Working knowledge of Packaging concepts (One-way, Returnable/Reusable, Stacking, and Trolleys).
  • Experience in QAD is preferable, with knowledge and experience in other ERP systems acceptable.
