Cochrane Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Director to join our team. As a key member of our organisation, you will be responsible for driving business growth and success through effective financial management.

About the Role
  • You will be responsible for developing and implementing financial policies, budgets, and procedures to ensure effective financial management.
  • Oversee the preparation of quarterly and annual account reconciliations, monitor and enforce compliance with tax and financial reporting standards, and assist with cash flow forecasting.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business growth and success.
Requirements
  • A matric certificate with an average of 65% or higher in Mathematics.
  • Possession of a preferred Honours Degree or Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business studies, or a related field.
  • CA (SA) qualification is mandatory.
  • Professional registration with SAICA is also required.
  • A minimum of three years' experience in management within a manufacturing or operations environment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of all facets of business operations and interactions, sound working knowledge of financial management, numeracy, and attention to detail.
  • Fluency in Afrikaans and English.
  • Strong understanding and application of South African income tax, VAT, and other tax legislation.
  • High level computer literacy, including MS Office and Excel.
  • Working experience in a financial environment; knowledge of online computer applications.
  • Ability to prioritise and plan work, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, meet deadlines consistently, manage projects, and cope under pressure.
  • Experience collaborating and/or managing a team of Accountants and Junior Accountants is ideal.
  • Commitment to teamwork, service, integrity, and confidentiality.
  • Decisive and assertive with the capability to build and maintain professional relationships.
  • Sound working knowledge of accounting practices coupled with the ability to write advanced macros and produce high-level spreadsheets and financial modelling.
