Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Av Technician to join our team at LINKFIELDS INNOVATIONS (PTY) LTD. As a key member of our ICT department, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and support of all Audio-Visual hardware and software.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Capture and maintain all IT assets in the ICT inventory database and dispatch the IT equipment to the user as per written request
  • Install and maintain all Audio-Visual hardware
  • Install and maintain Audio Visual software
  • Install and maintain all Audio-Visual peripherals
  • Liaise with external providers for hardware support
  • Setup ad-hoc equipment for events and classes
  • Audio Visual equipment fault diagnosis
  • Identify common problem areas experienced to recommend corrective action
  • Decide whether to send the Audio-Visual equipment to the manufacturer for repair
  • Report shortfall in parts inventory to line manager
  • Work with vendor support contacts to resolve technical problems with audiovisual equipment and software
  • Ensure audiovisual equipment interconnects seamlessly with diverse systems, including associated validation systems, file servers, email servers, computer conferencing systems, application servers, and administrative systems
  • Provide user support for the initial training on equipment and software
  • Assist users in the use of computer software if requested
  • Document instances of hardware failure, repair, install, and removal
  • Forward faulty Audio-Visual equipment to the workshop
  • Communicate project statuses to the helpdesk
  • Coordinate and liaise with the rest of the ICT Team
  • Develop how-to documents, videos on the use of Audio-Visual equipment and software tools

Requirements:

  • National Diploma in Information Communication Technology or related Audio-Visual industry-related certifications
  • Extron Control Professional certification or equivalent
  • AV Industry-specific certifications (e.g., Extron, etc.)
  • Driver's license
  • Willingness to work outside of normal working hours
  • 6 years of related experience
  • Experience with computer systems, LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi configuration & micro/Linux environment
  • Computer skills (MS Office suite)
  • Audio-visual equipment installation, maintenance, and management will be an added advantage
  • Equipment programming experience will be an added advantage
  • Good communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work within a team

Salary: R 80,000 - R 120,000 per annum
