Business Development and Customer Relationship Manager

The Talent Room is seeking a highly skilled Business Development and Customer Relationship Manager to join our team in Cape Town. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for developing and delivering sales strategies, plans, and targets in consultation with our product manager.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve business growth and revenue targets.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the agricultural, freight, and industrial sectors.
  • Nurture and maintain exceptional relationships with current and potential customers.
  • Grow sales territory and drive innovation of practical applications for our product offering.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to deliver sales targets and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Evaluate and report on progress against targets and provide solutions to problems or obstacles that may arise.

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of field sales experience in the agricultural, freight, and industrial sectors.
  • Tertiary qualification in a commercial or related field.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and customer relationship orientation.
  • Sound commercial acumen and ability to structure deals in volatile trading conditions.
  • Flexibility and innovation in offering unique solutions to customers.
  • Exceptional ability to grow relationships and build rapport with clients and team members.
  • Demonstrated ability to spot opportunities and structure deals that grow market share.
  • Strong negotiation skills and confident manner in defending margin.
  • Goal-oriented and proactive in seeking new business opportunities and applications for our product range.
  • Patient and thorough in following up leads but tenacious in securing commitment and closing the deal.
