Job Title: Warehouse Assistant/Driver

About the Role:

The Warehouse Assistant/Driver plays a vital role in the smooth operation of our warehouse, ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with excellent organizational skills, able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Receiving:
    • Accurately identify and process incoming shipments, ensuring timely receipt and storage of goods.
    • Verify the condition and quantity of received stock, reporting any discrepancies to the supervisor.
    • Ensure all received stock is properly stored and labeled, maintaining a clean and organized warehouse environment.
  • Storage:
    • Efficiently store and retrieve stock, utilizing warehouse management systems to track inventory levels.
    • Implement safe storage practices to prevent damage to goods and maintain a secure environment.
  • Order Fulfillment:
    • Process orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring timely dispatch of goods to customers.
    • Collaborate with the dispatch team to coordinate delivery schedules and ensure timely arrival of goods.
  • Packaging:
    • Ensure all packaged goods meet company standards, maintaining a professional image.
    • Implement efficient packaging practices to reduce damage and waste.
  • Dispatch:
    • Coordinate with the dispatch team to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods.
    • Verify the accuracy of delivery addresses and contact information, reporting any discrepancies to the supervisor.
  • Documentation:
    • Maintain accurate records of inventory, shipments, and deliveries, adhering to company policies and procedures.
    • Ensure all documentation is properly signed and stored, maintaining a secure and organized record-keeping system.
  • Health & Safety:
    • Adhere to company health and safety policies, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees.
    • Report any hazards or incidents to the supervisor, implementing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Matric/NQF 4 level qualification
  • 2+ years of experience in a warehouse or logistics environment
  • Valid driver's license (Code EC)
  • Intermediate proficiency in Windows and MS Office
