About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mine Planning Officer to join our team at Express Employment Professionals (Witbank). As a strategic production specialist, you will play a crucial role in driving and optimizing short-, medium- and long term mine production plans.

Responsibilities

  • Mine Design and Implementation: Utilize your expertise to design, schedule, and implement mine plans, ensuring optimal production levels and adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Production Planning and Tracking: Develop and track weekly mine development/production plans, providing regular reporting and insights to drive business growth.
  • Material and Financial Planning: Create and manage material and financial mine planning and budgeting, identifying areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvement.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Report monthly on variations between actual and business plans, providing actionable recommendations for realignment.
  • 3D Mine Design and Integration: Leverage 3D software such as Deswik, Datamine, or Microstation to create detailed mine designs and integrate with other systems.
  • Project Coordination: Effectively interface/integrate activities/delays to meet project deliverables, ensuring timely completion and minimal disruptions.
  • Long-term Planning: Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and update long-term and life-of-mine plans, incorporating summarized daily reports from Survey and Geology.
  • Critical Constraint Identification: Identify and monitor critical constraints, implementing solutions to mitigate risks and optimize production.

Requirements

  • Qualifications: Grade 12 or NQF 4 equivalent; Mine Engineering National Diploma/Degree advantageous.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of relevant experience in underground trackless mining, mine planning, and scheduling.
  • Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office; skilled in using mining 3D software such as Deswik, Datamine, or Microstation advantageous.
  • Team Player: A team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.

What We Offer
