Job Description

As a seasoned professional in the security industry, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our armed response team.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in security management, with a focus on leadership and team development. Your expertise will be instrumental in maintaining high standards of service delivery, while also driving business growth and expansion.

We are looking for an exceptional individual who can provide strategic guidance and support to our security teams, ensuring that they are equipped to handle complex situations with confidence and precision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To oversee daily shift management, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • To lead by example, demonstrating exceptional professionalism and integrity in all interactions with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
  • To conduct regular inspections of guard posts, equipment, and personnel, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • To develop and implement training programs for security personnel, focusing on areas such as emergency response, first aid, and conflict resolution.
  • To maintain accurate records of incidents, near-misses, and other security-related events, providing valuable insights for risk management and mitigation.
  • To collaborate with the Contract Manager to ensure seamless communication and coordination between teams.
  • To conduct thorough site audits, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies to enhance security protocols.
  • To develop and implement policies and procedures that align with company goals and objectives, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • To maintain a culture of continuous learning and improvement, staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.
  • To foster positive relationships with clients, promoting their needs and expectations, and delivering tailored solutions that exceed their expectations.

About You:

  • 5+ years of experience in security management, preferably in the mining industry.
  • Valid PSIRA certificate (Grade A).
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Grade 12 qualification.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas simply and clearly.
  • Proven track record of leadership and team development, with a focus on building high-performing teams.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the mining industry and security knowledge will be COMPULSARY.
  • Clean disciplinary, criminal, and credit record.
