We are seeking a highly skilled Solar Project Engineer Manager to oversee the construction and management of our 1MW PV Solar Farm project in the D.R. Congo from conception to commissioning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, execute, and manage projects within timelines, quality standards, and budget constraints.
  • Collaborate with design engineers, contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders to align with goals and regulations.
  • Conduct site visits, assessments, and technical evaluations for optimal solar farm construction solutions.
  • Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) on behalf of the client when required.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, environmental regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Train junior engineers involved in the project.
  • Tender for various power projects.
  • Identify opportunities in the power sector and supply services to Independent Power Producers (IPPs) in South Africa.
  • Attend related site visits and meetings.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant field.
  • Minimum National Diploma: Electrical Engineering, Construction Management.
  • 10+ years' project management experience, preferably in electrical Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC).
  • Knowledge in Low Voltage/Medium Voltage/High Voltage electrical engineering.
  • Proficiency with MS Project and CAD for solar design.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, proactive problem-solving.
  • Fluent in English; French is a plus.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, work independently and under pressure.
  • Strong computer skills.
