IT Governance and Compliance Strategist

This key role is responsible for spearheading the development of a comprehensive IT governance framework that encompasses risk management, compliance, and internal controls.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Governance
  • Establish a robust IT governance operating model, outlining the mandate and inter-relationship between governance structures.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of internal governance structures, recommending potential improvements to executive management.
  • Consolidate GRC-related information across functions and governance structures, identifying priority focus areas and monitoring progress.
  • Promote good corporate governance practices within the organization.
Risk Management
  • Develop and implement the system-wide risk management function of the IT GRC framework, ensuring IT risks are identified and monitored.
  • Maintain IT Risk Registers for group companies and departments, ensuring regular review by management.
  • Evaluate the adequacy of IT controls for the Group's information and technology systems.
Policy and Compliance
  • Lead the system-wide IT compliance program, ensuring IT activities meet defined requirements, policies, and regulations.
  • Develop and implement effective policies and practices to secure protected and sensitive data, adhering to relevant legislation and legal interpretation.
Audit and Assurance
  • Collaborate with Internal Audit, External Audit, and Internal Control functions on required IT assessments and audits.
  • Coordinate and track all IT-related audits, including scope, timelines, auditing agencies, and outcomes.
  • Work with auditors to maintain excellent relationships and provide a consistent perspective that showcases the organization in its best light.
Leadership and Strategy
  • Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the smooth functioning of the organization.
  • Recommend programmatic and technical directions, operating with a high degree of independence in matters related to IT incidents, risk, and measures.
  • Independently manage project activities, including developing project plans and budget/resource estimates.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Auditing and Information Systems or an equivalent qualification. A minimum of 6-8 years' experience at a managerial level in a governance, risk & compliance environment is required, along with auditing experience as a compliance officer, information risk specialist, or information technology auditor.

The estimated salary for this position is $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and location.
