DTP Manager Job Description

Boardroom Appointments is seeking a highly skilled DTP Manager to oversee and manage all Packaging DTP Operators. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring style guides, business processes, daily deliverables, and technical industry standards are met with precision.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage DTP Operators: Oversee and manage all Packaging DTP Operators to ensure they are working efficiently and effectively.
  • Ensure Style Guides and Business Processes: Ensure that all style guides, business processes, and daily deliverables are met with precision.
  • Repro Checking: Conduct thorough and meticulous repro checking of all internal and external artwork to ensure accuracy of all final print-ready artworks.
  • Sign Off on Printers Proofs: Sign off on printers proofs to ensure that all checks are 100% accurate against style guides.
  • Cost-Effective Print Specs and Formats: Advise on cost-effective print specs and print formats to ensure the best possible outcome.
  • Artwork Delivery: Ensure the delivery of artwork according to the critical path and deadlines.
  • Design Discipline: Ensure that all design disciplines are followed, including line rules, image corrections, retouching, and final art checks.
  • Review and Edit: Review and edit text, graphics, or other materials created by writers and designers to ensure they meet the required standards.
  • Page Proofs and Artwork: Check page proofs and artwork to eliminate errors and ensure that the design looks right.
  • Brand Consistency: Ensure and support the final artwork branding elements and packaging to maintain brand consistency.
  • Rollout of Artwork and Packaging: Ensure the rollout of all artwork and packaging into the entities.
  • Deliver Specified Outcomes: Deliver specified outcomes and provide others with expert advice while working within established brand programs and briefs.
  • Management Skills: Deliver on final mock-ups management skills per brief, per SKU, before final artworks are sent to print.
  • Archiving and Filing: Maintain the Packaging Server archives, filing all artwork in a systematic, easy-to-navigate way and saving all external supplier final packaged artworks.
  • Support to Packaging Creative Head: Provide a strong support base to the Packaging Creative Head to maintain brand consistency and set high design standards across the company.
