Job Title: Generator Industry Sales Specialist

Description:

We are seeking a skilled Generator Industry Sales Specialist to join our team in East London, Eastern Cape. In this role, you will be responsible for fulfilling a sales representative position within the generator industry and commercial and industrial sectors.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Achieve agreed profitability targets by selling generators and other products to clients in the commercial and industrial sector.
  • Establish, develop, and maintain relationships with current and future customers to ensure repeat business and referrals.
  • Expedite and follow up on the successful resolving of customer problems related to generator sales and installation.
  • Reach out to customer leads through cold-calling to identify new business opportunities.
  • Coordinate sales efforts with team members and other departments to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Conduct weekly customer visits to build relationships and identify potential sales opportunities.
  • Organize monthly customer outings to build strong relationships and generate new business leads.
  • Travel regularly to neighbouring countries to expand our market presence and establish new relationships.
  • Achieve short- and long-term sales targets by identifying and capitalizing on new business opportunities.
  • Perform cost-benefit analysis of existing and potential clients to ensure we are focusing on high-value opportunities.
  • Maintain positive business relationships with clients to ensure future sales and referrals.
Marketing and Competitive Analysis:
  • Quarterly competitor pricing comparison to be submitted to ensure we remain competitive in the market.
  • Monthly submission of market analysis to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Research, report, and keep abreast of market conditions to stay ahead of the competition.
  • Investigate, report, and understand the organizational structure of clients to better serve their needs.
  • Keep up-to-date and report on competitor activity, developments, and pricing to ensure we remain competitive.
Administration:
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of enquiries, quotes, and tenders to meet client expectations.
  • Ensure the timely loading of sales orders to prevent delays in delivery.
  • Ensure the timely completion of all internal administration tasks to maintain a smooth operation.
  • Assist the relevant accounts personnel with the collection of outstanding/overdue payments to minimize bad debt.
  • Prepare and distribute marketing and sales aids to support our sales efforts.
  • Provide timely stock verification information on equipment on site to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Complete weekly and monthly reports to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
  • Comply with all reasonable instructions from management to ensure a smooth operation.
  • No outstanding debtors amount in excess of 45 days to maintain good credit ratings.
  • Conduct customer surveys within 5 days of last delivery to ensure client satisfaction.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
  • Grade 12 qualification or equivalent.
  • BCom degree in Marketing Management or equivalent will be advantageous.
  • Minimum 3 years' sales representative experience in the generator industry or commercial and industrial markets.
  • Own car and driver's license to enable travel and meeting clients.
  • Fully computer literate in MS Office (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Outlook) to efficiently manage administrative tasks.
  • Flexibility to work long hours and weekends where required to meet client expectations.
