Job Title: Branch Manager, Operations, Road Logistics

Main Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the staff, clients, and deliverables of the branch, ensuring alignment with the organization's overall objectives and optimal utilization of resources to deliver exceptional services to clients.

Key Requirements:

  • Essential skills in financial, sales, operational, HR, and IR management.
  • 5 years of experience in the Logistics and Road Transport environment.
  • 5 years of previous business and operational management experience.
  • Excellent administrative skills and ability to motivate and lead staff.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the LRA and BCEA, with hands-on experience in IR.
  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams and manage daily operational performance to achieve performance metric targets.

Qualifications:

  • MATRIC (Essential).
  • B. Com or equivalent diploma or postgraduate diploma in Logistics (Advantageous).

Elective Requirements:

  • Valid, unendorsed Code 08 driver's license.
  • Own reliable transport.
  • Ability to work overtime, shifts, and flexible travel arrangements.

Computer Packages:

  • MS Outlook (Advanced).
  • MS Excel (Advanced).
  • MS Word (Advanced).

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the delivery of the organization's objectives through communication, measurement, and motivation of staff.
  • Interface with shared functions to ensure continued cooperation and interactions.
  • Manage and deliver on clients' commitments based on local, national, and global strategy.
  • Manage cost and productivity within the branch to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance to internal and external controls and other KPIs set at global and local level.
  • Deliver on the bottom-line budget commitment to ensure the business unit budget is met.
  • Identify opportunities and risks within the business that may impact the business environment and ability to deliver to shareholder commitments.
  • Manage people's performance and growth to create a sustainable business environment.
  • Adhere to deadlines and schedules.
  • Manage and control resources and risk management.
  • Administrative duties relevant to the position.
  • Interact with customers at all levels – in person and telephonically.
  • Maintain existing systems, processes, and controls with continuous improvement.

Operational Performance:

  • Actively manage daily operational performance to consistently achieve performance metric targets.
  • Deliver on client and internal requirements.
  • Internal stakeholder communication management, ensuring agreed-to meetings, conference calls, and forums are planned and conducted internally as agreed to by all stakeholders.
