Senior Client Liaison Officer

Vunani Fund Managers is a leading South African fund management company that provides institutional investment products to clients.

We are building a top-ranked fund management business focused on investment performance and client services.

The role of Senior Client Liaison Officer is crucial in linking the client, front office, and back office teams.

Purpose of the Role

The Senior Client Liaison Officer works closely with fund managers and is the primary point of contact for clients' administrators and consultants regarding audit requirements, reporting, and administration.

The purpose of this role is to facilitate effective communication between stakeholders, ensuring seamless transaction processing and timely issue resolution.

This role can be divided into four key areas: relationship building, reporting, query management, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  1. BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS: Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, including their administrators, consultants, and auditors.
  2. ADMINISTRATION AND REPORTING: Ensure accurate and timely administration of client accounts, as well as generate reports to meet regulatory requirements.
  3. LIAISING WITH CLIENTS AND INTERNAL TEAMS: Communicate effectively with each designated client, front office, and back office team to attend to and resolve queries and requests on both segregated and unit trust funds.
  4. TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT: Assist in training junior staff and graduates to ensure knowledge transfer and skills development within the team.
  5. PROCESS IMPROVEMENT: Maintain existing processes and procedures while documenting new ones as needed to enhance operational efficiency.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  1. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Diploma in Accounting or relevant qualification.
  2. BASIC SKILLS:
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Accuracy (numeric).
  • Attention to detail.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Time management skills & ability to multi-task.
  • Team player.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a client administration environment.
  • Working knowledge of equities, bonds, derivatives, collective investments, and money market instruments.
  • General understanding of FAIS, FICA, CISCA, Regulation 28 (Pension Fund Act) requirements.
