We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mining Automation Specialist to join our team at one of our mines in the Northern Cape. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of automation systems, as well as excellent project management skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement automation solutions for mining operations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for automation and process improvement.
  • Develop and maintain technical specifications and requirements for automation projects.
  • Provide training and support to operations personnel on new automation technologies.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Electrical/Instrumentation Engineering.
  • Minimum 8-10 years of relevant experience.
  • Proven working experience in project execution through EPC/Construction partners.
  • Sound knowledge of MCC, PLC, DCS, SCADA, etc.
  • Experience in erection and commissioning of Green/Brown field projects from concept stages, tender preparation & bid adjudication, review of detailed engineering design, to project handover to the operation team.
  • Good working knowledge of the Mine Health and Safety Act and Environmental Management principles, practices, and statutory requirements.
