Safety Officer Job Description

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Safety Officer to join our team at ATripleA Recruitment and Temps. As a key member of our safety team, you will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with Occupational Health and Safety regulations and promoting a safe work environment.

**Key Responsibilities:**

• Conduct regular safety inspections of the workplace to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.

• Develop and implement safety procedures, policies, and guidelines in accordance with regulatory requirements.

• Conduct safety training sessions for employees on topics such as hazard identification, emergency procedures, and personal protective equipment (PPE) usage.

• Monitor and ensure the proper use and maintenance of safety equipment and facilities.

• Collaborate with other departments to address safety concerns and implement corrective measures.

• Maintain safety records and documentation, including incident reports, inspection logs, and training records.

• Stay updated on relevant safety regulations and industry best practices to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.

**Requirements:**

• Essential Matric qualification.

• Diploma or certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field - SAMTRAC.

• Registered with SACPCMP – NON-NEGOTIABLE.

• Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety regulations and standards.

• Strong attention to detail and observation skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

• Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and responsibilities.

• Prior experience in a similar role or industry is an advantage.

• Capacity to work well under pressure.

• Valid driver's license.

• Certification in First Aid and CPR is preferred.
