Job Title: Au Pair for Two Siblings

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate au pair to join our family and support our two wonderful children, a 2-year-old and an autistic 4-year-old. The ideal candidate should be playful, energetic, and creative, with a knack for finding new and fun ways to connect with and stimulate their growing minds.

Main Purpose of the Job:

The au pair will be a helping hand for our children's unique and specific support needs, providing the necessary guidance and support to help them thrive. A special interest and passion in neurodiversity and being a secure long-term source of support are essential.

Job Objectives:
  1. Becoming a core member of our multidisciplinary team to support our children's individual needs when needed.
  2. Providing companionship and emotional support for our children at home.
  3. Supporting and scaffolding for our children's regulation needs, lessening any uncertainty and anxiety.
  4. Carrying out duties such as school pickups and drop-offs, outings, and appointments, and preparing meals and snacks.
  5. Light housework, including wiping down tables after eating, loading and unloading the dishwasher, and helping pack away activities/toys.
  6. Supporting the understanding of our children's individual differences, sensory profiles, and executive functioning.
  7. Grocery shopping.
Requirements:
  • A valid driver's license and reliable car are essential.
  • Fluent in English is essential.
  • Previous experience in a role supporting neurodivergent children is essential.
  • Previous experience working with younger children under the age of 5 years old is essential.
  • Familiarity and knowledge of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is essential.
  • Familiarity with a low-arousal, child-led, neuro-affirming approach is essential.
Working Hours:

Monday to Friday: 09:00-17:00

Salary Range:

R12,800 - R16,000
