Solar Head of Operations Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to oversee the efficient operation of our solar energy projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing teams and fostering a collaborative work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage a team of operations and maintenance professionals to ensure the optimal performance of solar energy assets.
  • Develop and implement operations and maintenance strategies to maximize energy output, minimize downtime, and extend the lifespan of solar installations.
  • Monitor and analyze the performance data of solar projects, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, procurement, and finance to optimize project performance and drive cost-effective solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards, promoting a culture of safety within the operations team.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with equipment suppliers, contractors, and service providers.
  • Prepare regular reports for senior management on the operational performance of solar assets, highlighting key metrics and achievements.
  • Develop and manage the operations budget, controlling costs and resource allocation.

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, renewable energy, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
  • Proven track record of at least 8 years in solar operations and maintenance, with 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong technical knowledge of solar PV systems and associated technologies.
  • Experience in managing teams and fostering a collaborative and results-driven work environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
  • Familiarity with industry regulations, safety protocols, and environmental compliance.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Project management experience and proficiency in relevant software tools.
