IT OPS Support Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled IT OPS Support Engineer to join our team at Deka Minas (Pty) Ltd. As a key member of our IT OPS Support Team, you will be responsible for providing technical support to our business end users, maintaining desktop operating systems, and performing general maintenance on all IT-related hardware and software.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Software Support: Diagnose and resolve software issues, including operating systems, MS Office, Office 365, and other applications.
  • Hardware Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot hardware problems on laptops, conference units, desktops, monitors, and headsets.
  • System Installation and Configuration: Install and configure computer hardware, operating systems, and applications.
  • Network and System Support: Resolve system and network issues, including managing user accounts, profiles, and password issues.
  • Incident Management: Log all user incidents and requests in the service management system and respond to call-outs within agreed time frames.
  • Desktop and Network Support: Provide technical support to customers as part of the team, including setting up workstations and peripherals for end-users.
  • Component Replacement: Replace desktop components as needed and ensure continuous application of software updates and patches.
Requirements:
  • Certification: MCP/A+/N+/M365 Certification or equivalent.
  • Experience: 4-6 years of experience in desktop support/Tier 1 IT support.
  • Administrative Experience: Experience administering and supporting Microsoft AD and/or Entra ID.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in installing and supporting desktop operating systems and Office 365 applications, as well as skills in troubleshooting desktops, printers, and network issues.
  • Soft Skills: Ability to manage antivirus and security concerns, capacity to prioritize tasks and work under pressure, and attention to detail and adherence to policies.
