Electrical Draughting and Cost Engineer Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Draughting and Cost Engineer to join our team at The Globevest Group. As an Electrical Draughting and Cost Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and costing electrical projects, ensuring that they are completed on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and cost electrical projects, including drafting and detailing electrical systems.
  • Prepare tender documents, contracts, and budgets for electrical projects.
  • Track changes to project designs and adjust budget projections accordingly.
  • Measure and value work done on site.
  • Liaise with clients, site managers, project managers, and site engineers to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Select and source project materials.
  • Write reports and provide technical instructions to project teams.
  • Undertake research and advise on alternatives to ensure cost-effectiveness.
  • Analyze data and interpret results to inform project decisions.
Requirements:
  • Grade 12 qualification.
  • Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent.
  • Professional certification as a listed Electrical Engineer (ECSA).
  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar position.
  • Excellent knowledge of electrical practices, methods, equipment, materials, and tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans, sketches, and drawings.
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Computer literacy, including MS Excel and specialist software.
