Job Description

This role offers a unique opportunity to join the De Beers Group as a Global Finance Manager - Shared Services, based in an exciting location. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality financial services and support to ensure the success of our business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Management Accounting: You will be responsible for producing timely and accurate management accounting information, including operating expenditure, capital expenditure, projects, head counts, key business indicators, risk management, audit findings, scorecard maintenance, monthly accrual maintenance, asset management, contract register maintenance, and ad hoc reporting requirements.
  • Financial Reporting: Monitor internal cost reporting per department for all three regions (EMEA, APAC, and Latam) within GSS, compile monthly and quarterly business meeting presentations and reports for global GSS management teams, analyze and interpret actual results, provide operational and strategic input to GSS management, verify capital administration and reporting for compliance to IFRS standards, report on financial and operation results, and support the preparation of annual statutory accounts for AAESS and liaise with external auditors for all regions.
  • Management Accounting and Support: Work with management and colleagues to provide effective management accounting services, introduce enhanced GSS global reporting, liaise effectively with key departmental managers, build strong working relationships, ensure systems and controls are in place, support implementation of corrective actions arising from audit findings, exploit technology and systems to extract efficiencies and cost savings, participate in business projects, prepare ad hoc presentations, management reports, and business analyses, and contribute to own personal development.
  • Financial: Own and manage the development of the budget, monitor costs against budget, identify opportunities for improved cost management, develop, consolidate, and compile short- and long-term budgets for GSS, coordinate the total process, including BU service charges, for all three GSS regions, analyze and interpret budget results, conduct sensitivity analysis, provide recommendations and insights, interpret financial information to provide recommendations, coordinate the monthly forecast for GSS, maintain GSS Financial planning/forecasting models, and develop and maintain GSS models to facilitate MOP discussions with the Head of GSS and service leads.
Requirements:
  • Fundamental Qualifications: A financial degree is required for this role.
  • Essential Skills and Experience: Demonstrated functional accounting experience in a similar environment, experience of year-end and other statutory reporting, experience with analysis and benchmarking of financial/business data, demonstrated experience working within a team to deliver against set targets, and experience of performing key controls and working with adherence to financial procedures.
  • Desirable Skills and Experience: Previous experience in a large corporate environment, a CSA or MBA degree, good organization skills, ability to prioritize and work effectively to meet deadlines, computer literate with a working knowledge of SAP and the Microsoft Office suite, strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy, comfortable escalating any foreseeable issues or opportunities for improvement to management, working knowledge of tax legislation (VAT, Income Tax), working knowledge of Companies Act and statutory financial reporting requirements, communication skills, written and verbal (must be fluent in English), and ability to express and debate views with senior levels of management.

The salary for this position is estimated to be between $80,000 and $120,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience.
