Job Description

We are looking for a talented Senior RF Systems Designer to design, develop, and test radio frequency circuits and sub-systems for applications in telecommunications, aerospace, and defense.

This position is based in Airport City, Cape Town, and offers a unique opportunity to work on high-profile projects with a dynamic team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in RF engineering, excellent problem-solving skills, and experience with simulation tools such as ADS, AWR, HFSS, and CST.

The salary for this position is estimated to be around $120,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.

Responsibilities
  • Create and optimize RF circuits and sub-systems to meet performance specifications.
  • Utilize simulation tools to model RF behavior and perform hands-on testing and validation of RF designs in a lab environment.
  • Develop prototypes to test and refine RF designs, ensuring they meet required standards and specifications.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to RF interference, signal degradation, and other performance problems.
  • Prepare technical reports, design documentation, and compliance reports.
  • Work closely with other engineers, project managers, and system engineers to ensure successful project delivery.
Qualifications and Experience
  • A relevant Engineering Degree is mandatory.
  • A Master's Degree would be advantageous.
  • Minimum 3 years of working experience designing RF circuits and sub-systems is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CAD Software such as Altium Designers is essential.
  • Sound knowledge of RF simulation tools such as ADS, AWR, HFSS, and CST is necessary.

  • RF circuits and sub-systems design expertise.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen eye for detail.
  • Technical report writing, design documentation, and compliance report preparation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Experience with RF lab equipment such as VNA, VSG, SA, NFA.
  • Proficiency in schematic capture and PCB layout using CAD packages such as Altium Designer.
