Job Responsibilities:

  • Implement a controlled ordering system to ensure timely placement of scheduled orders with local and overseas suppliers.
  • Conduct regular weekly or monthly releases to suppliers, verifying against parts lists and cumulative call-off versus average monthly.
  • Ensure 100% availability of goods and minimize transportation costs.
  • Balance material availability, inventory turns, and freight to optimize logistics.
  • Verify data accuracy for stocks, bill of materials, and planning figures.
  • Avoid obsolete materials by implementing effective inventory management practices.
  • Conduct weekly audits of excess and slow-moving stock against agreed parameters and stock values versus targets.
  • Generate supplier delivery performance reports on a weekly or monthly basis.
  • Maintain a control system for customs documentation and implement a control system for imported stock as per customs and excise requirements.
  • Coordinate the delivery of containers to the warehouse and ensure necessary documentation is handed over.
  • Assist the receiving department with processing queries of supplier documents and the finance department with queries relating to supplied parts.
  • Ensure SMRR documents are communicated with imported suppliers and processed on the QAD ERP system, with shortfall component orders raised as necessary.
  • Advise freight forwarders on parts that need urgent collection and method of transport.
  • Maintain verification and control systems with warehouses of purchased components.
  • Implement and maintain weekly control of ECR changes in accordance with IOS, Run Out/Run in Control, and balance out claims.
  • Implement and maintain control of premium freight charges per IOS and plant requirements.
  • Assist with regular static data audits on QAD to maintain an up-to-date database and assist with stock counts as required.
  • Develop and implement plans for reducing inventory and carry costs in line with agreed objectives without compromising service levels.
