We are seeking a senior drafter to join our team in Durban, South Africa. The successful candidate will have around 5-8 years of experience in piping design and engineering, with a strong background in AutoCAD, CADWorx, and Windows.

About the Position

The senior drafter will be responsible for designing and developing piping systems for oil and gas production and processing facilities.

  • Develop and check system design CAD files or drawings in conformance with project specifications, scope of work, design parameters, codes, and industry practices.
  • Review project specifications, administrative and technical practices, design instructions, plot plan, flow diagrams, and supplier information.
  • Perform manual/computer layouts using specifications, standard drawings, design instructions, plot plan, flow diagrams, line list and supplier information.
  • Draw and update material and stress sketches.
Key Responsibilities

The senior drafter will be responsible for:

  • Communicating and interfacing with other project design and engineering disciplines.
  • Completing manual/computer drawings and isometrics.
  • Checking, back checking, and correcting manual/computer drawings and isometrics.
  • Updating master flow diagrams.
  • Preparing material take-off and procurement specifications/requisition, evaluating vendor's offers, issuing technical queries and preparing recommendations for purchase order placement.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must have:

  • A relevant Engineering or Draughting qualification.
  • At least 5-8 years of experience in piping design and engineering for oil and gas production and processing facilities.
  • Strong skills in AutoCAD, CADWorx, and Windows.
