Job Description: Pyrometallurgy Technician

We are looking for a skilled Pyrometallurgy Technician to join our research team at Mintek in Gauteng, Randburg.

About the Job:

  • The successful candidate will operate and maintain pyrometallurgy equipment, ensuring efficient and safe operations.
  • You will also prepare samples/feed materials, manage bulk storage areas, and coordinate housekeeping and inventory control.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate laboratory and pilot scale furnace equipment.
  • Prepare equipment and facilities for use.
  • Check operability and provide technical advice on optimal equipment settings.

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years' experience in furnace operation and high-temperature equipment.
  • Knowledge or experience with SHEQ systems is essential.
  • Physically and medically fit.
