Job Description:

The International Contract Negotiator will be responsible for managing all contract activity for Deka Minas Pty Ltd, representing the company in negotiations of complex contractual issues. This role requires a comprehensive knowledge of legal, business, financial, and long-term implications of prime contract negotiation and maintenance.

Responsibilities:
  • Negotiate significant contracts or contract modifications under difficult conditions, drawing upon broad prior experience to achieve favourable terms and conditions with clients while meeting company objectives.
  • Identify risks and contractual terms not conforming to company policy.
  • Participate in strategic planning activities for specific projects, including risk assessment, bid/no bid analysis, and business plan development.
  • Select personnel, make staffing assignments, and supervise work produced to ensure consistent high-quality performance.
  • Maintain active participation in related professional societies to stay up-to-date on relevant contractual issues.
  • Keep subordinates informed about resource materials dealing with current contract administration and negotiation issues.
Requirements:
  • Juris Doctor/LLB in Law or Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field.
  • 10+ years of prime contract administration experience within a large international Oil and Gas/Engineering firm.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of industry business practices and prime contract negotiation.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and working knowledge of PC software packages associated with contract administration.
  • Capable of independently negotiating complex contractual issues.
  • Proven ability to manage and direct work involving complex situations.
Estimated Salary:

$120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
