Senior Legal Coordinator

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Legal Coordinator to join our team at TalentCru. As a key member of our legal department, you will play a critical role in minimizing bad debt and ensuring the smooth operation of our banking sector clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • LLB Degree and Admitted Attorney: You must hold a valid LLB degree and be an admitted attorney to apply for this role.
  • Banking Experience: You should have significant work experience in a banking environment, with a strong understanding of Magistrate/High Court litigation.
  • Training and Guidance: You will be responsible for training and guiding supporting staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills to perform their duties effectively.
  • Legal Knowledge: You must have a thorough understanding of the law of contract, law of cession, evidence, insolvency, and civil procedure, as well as knowledge of consumer protection obligations.
  • Debtor's Accounts: You should have excellent understanding of debtor's accounts, specifically rental lease agreements, and be able to manage them effectively to maximize recovery.
  • Legal Process: You must have knowledge of the legal process, including insolvencies and all Acts surrounding the collection of debts.
  • Settlement Negotiations: You will be responsible for attending settlement negotiations on legal matters and ensuring the best possible outcome for our clients.
  • Client Meetings: You will attend meetings with clients and/or attorneys to discuss legal matters and provide guidance.
  • Legal Account Management: You will manage all rental legal accounts in conjunction with relevant parties, ensuring maximum recovery to the bank in the shortest possible time frame.
  • Cost Management: You must be able to manage and contain all internal and external costs associated with the collection of outstanding agreements.
  • Reporting: You will assist with impairments and other reports required relative to the rental legal book and present at relevant managerial meetings.
  • Write-Offs: You will recommend write-offs after all avenues of recovery have been exhausted.
  • Ad Hoc Legal Advice: You will provide ad hoc legal advice to the business, specifically with regards to the bank's Asset Finance division.
