Job Summary

Bonafide Human Capital Pty (Ltd) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Director to lead our Pretoria Depot operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the overall management of the depot, ensuring the profitability of our business unit, and developing strategies to grow our services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Business Strategies: Propose and advise on the company's adoption of business unit strategies and policies that are consistent with internal and external needs.
  • Financial Management: Ensure the profitability of the business unit through sound financial management principles and practices.
  • Resource Optimization: Oversee and optimize resources in the planning and scheduling of bus operations to ensure the smooth running of services provided to the community.
  • Maintenance and Staffing: Oversee and ensure efficient utilization of resources in the scheduling and execution of the overall maintenance plan for the buses in the business unit, as well as effective utilization of staffing.
  • Marketing and Compliance: Develop and ensure implementation of a marketing strategy to grow existing services and attract new business, while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation applicable to the industry.
Requirements
  • Tertiary Qualification: Tertiary qualification in Commerce, Engineering, Transport Management, or equivalent.
  • Experience: 5-8 years of experience in operations, technical, finance, or human resources, with at least 3 years in a managerial position.
  • Skills and Knowledge: Distinguished excellence and a good track record in general management, knowledge of technical, engineering, and operational practices and procedures, as well as computer literacy.
Working Conditions
  • Long Hours and Stress: The job involves long hours of work and a fair amount of stress, with the possibility of working long irregular hours as dictated by operational demands.

  • Knowledge: Knowledge of the bus passenger industry, agreements and legislation, financial management principles, human resources practices, marketing principles, technical/engineering practices, and bus operations processes.
  • Skills: Good analytic thinking and problem-solving skills, planning and organizing skills, verbal and written communication skills, leadership skills, and computer skills.
