Sushi Chef Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Sushi Chef to join our team at Genrico Recruitment Pty Ltd. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for creating and preparing a rich sushi menu with various main ingredients and raw fish.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a sushi menu that showcases your culinary expertise
  • Prepare appetizers, soups, and salads that align with the philosophy of Japanese cuisine
  • Lead and manage the kitchen staff in the head chef's absence

Requirements:

  • Matric or Culinary Diploma preferred
  • At least 4 years of experience in a senior chef role
  • Previous experience as a Sushi Chef or at an Asian restaurant
  • Good knowledge of various sushi types and sushi-rolling techniques
  • Valid driver's license and own transport
  • Basic computer skills (word, excel, outlook)
  • Exceptional customer-service skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Availability to work within opening hours (e.g. evenings, public holidays, weekends)
