Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Director to join our team at Fact. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our data centers, ensuring the smooth functioning of our electrical and mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operations Management: Develop and implement effective operations strategies to ensure the efficient operation of our data centers.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment, including diesel generator sets, oil systems, and ATS equipment.
  • System Monitoring: Monitor and analyze system performance to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of electrical and mechanical technicians to ensure the successful operation of our data centers.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with all relevant safety and regulatory requirements, and maintain a safe working environment for all employees.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Six (6) years of relevant work experience in data center operations or a related field.
  • Professional Qualifications: Professional Engineering Technician qualification certified by the South African Institution of Engineers (ECSA), or other relevant industry certification.
  • Skills: Strong problem-solving skills, ability to work in a high-pressure environment, and excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Data Center Experience: Experience in operations and maintenance of data centers or large industrial facilities.
  • Industry Certifications: Certification by the South African Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Association (SARACCA), South African Engineering and Technology Association (SEIFSA), or South African Quality Control Council (SAQCC).
