We are seeking a highly skilled Regional Sales Development Director to join our team at Placement Point (Pty) Ltd. This role is based in Mpumalanga, South Africa and offers a competitive salary of R600,000 per annum.

About the Role

The Area Sales Manager will be responsible for leading the external sales function within their allocated area/region of responsibility. This includes identifying opportunities to source new independent and franchise hardware merchants, converting them to the business, and assisting with the onboarding process.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for executing the annual sales strategy and plan for their allocated area/region, designing and implementing tactical and operational plans to meet strategic objectives, and providing regular reporting against department objectives and annual calendar.

Additionally, they will work closely with internal departments such as Merchant Support and Marketing to ensure that hardware merchant & credit champion profiles are set up, adequate training is provided, and marketing material is dispatched to stores.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leading the external sales function within their allocated area/region
  • Sourcing new independent and franchise hardware merchants
  • Converting merchants to the business
  • Assisting with the onboarding process
  • Executing the annual sales strategy and plan
  • Designing and implementing tactical and operational plans
  • Providing regular reporting against department objectives and annual calendar
  • Working closely with internal departments
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A Matric (Grade 12) qualification
  • At least 3 years' experience in a sales role
  • Experience within the hardware sector and/or financial services (loans) is advantageous
  • Tertiary qualification in Sales or relevant sales and relationship management experience
  • Computer literacy in MS Office (Outlook, Excel)
