Job Summary

Hedz Recruitment Solutions is seeking an experienced and dynamic Workshop Operations Manager to lead a team in a fast-paced workshop environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all workshop operations, including recruitment, training, and management of a team of mechanics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Workshop Planning and Management: Oversee all aspects of workshop operations, including workshop planning, resource allocation, and workflow management to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
  • Team Leadership and Management: Manage a team of mechanics, providing leadership, guidance, and support to ensure optimal performance and productivity.
  • Recruitment and Training: Lead recruitment efforts for new workshop staff, including mechanics and apprentices, and oversee their training and development to ensure they meet the required standards.
  • Parts Coordination: Coordinate with the parts department to ensure timely and accurate completion of work orders.
  • Workshop Efficiency and Productivity: Monitor and maintain workshop efficiency and productivity levels, implementing process improvements as needed to optimize equipment performance and longevity.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards, conducting regular safety inspections and training sessions to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Maintenance Scheduling: Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures to optimize equipment performance and longevity.
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with senior management to develop strategies for workshop growth and improvement.
Requirements
  • Experience: Previous experience in a similar role as a Workshop Manager or Service Manager, preferably in the heavy-duty truck industry.
  • Leadership and Management Skills: Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Technical Expertise: Technical expertise in heavy-duty truck maintenance and repair processes.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with team members.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency in workshop management software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Safety Commitment: Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment and adhering to safety protocols.
  • Certification: Red Seal qualification or equivalent certification in heavy-duty truck mechanics or a related field is preferred.
