  • Finance and Business Management:
    • Manage the operational budget and ensure cost-effectiveness.

    • Manage insurance claims and adhere to corporate governance.
  • Operational and Technical Management:
    • Verify and update SOPs to ensure effective warehouse management.
    • Continuously improve and enhance service offerings.
    • Manage health and safety, client compliance, and overall compliance by staff.
  • Human Resources:
    • Conduct performance appraisals for subordinates.
    • Manage absenteeism, overtime, and access control.
    • Ensure adherence to IR process and initiate disciplinary enquiries as needed.
    • Identify and address training needs through the workplace skills plan.
    • Motivate staff and coordinate staff functions.
  • Risk Management:
    • Maintain operational legal compliance.
    • Conduct daily management walkabouts and review stock take/cycle count reports.
    • Convene daily operations discussions with departmental heads.
    • Implement and maintain SLAs with key suppliers and measure compliance.
Requirements:
  • Proven work experience as Operations Manager or similar role.
  • Minimum three years Chemical industry related experience advantageous.
  • Degree in Business, Operations Management, or related field essential.
  • Knowledge of organisational effectiveness and operations management.
  • Experience in budgeting and forecasting.
  • Familiarity with business and financial principles.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience in Inventory Management and Staff Management.
  • Leadership ability.
  • Understanding of Syspro and Pastel Accounting programmes advantageous.
  • Valid, unendorsed Driver's License.
