Job Description:
As a HR Officer at Dick Whittington Shoes, you will be responsible for developing and executing personnel procedures and policies. Your expertise in HR principles and practices will enable you to provide guidance and interpretation for business operations. You will lead and direct the routing functions of the company's HR Department and participate in the development of the HR Objectives and systems, including metrics, queries, and ongoing reports for the company requirements including training.

You will manage all the industrial relations functions of the company by ensuring compliance with the company's code of conduct and handling of all disciplinary hearings and enquiries. Your strong knowledge of employment laws will ensure that the company remains compliant.

The ideal candidate will have:
  • A drive, energy, and technical ability to manage the department and the company's objectives.
  • Strong knowledge of HR principles and practices with the ability to practice judgment, forward-thinking, and strategy to solve problems and develop transformational HR initiatives quickly.
  • A Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in human resources, business, or related field.
  • Proven success working in an HR department preferably in a manufacturing environment for a minimum of 3 years.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and regulations related to employment.

Requirements:
- Must live in Pietermaritzburg and surrounding areas or be willing to relocate to Pietermaritzburg.
- Must have own transport as may be required to work after normal hours to attend meetings or urgent management matters.
