Job Description

This role is responsible for providing technical support to employees, ensuring that all IT systems and software are functioning correctly. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Windows Server, Active Directory, DHCP, and DNS.

Responsibilities
  1. System Installation and Configuration: Install and configure PCs and software components to ensure optimal usability.
  2. Troubleshooting and Repair: Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues; repair or replace damaged hardware as needed.
  3. User Profile Management: Create and manage employee profiles on PCs and networks.
  4. Server Support: Provide support and maintenance for servers, both online and offline.
  5. System Upgrades: Upgrade systems and software to ensure compatibility across all computers.
  6. Security Management: Install and update antivirus software to maintain user-level security.
  7. Software and Hardware Testing: Evaluate and test new software and hardware to ensure performance and compatibility.
  8. User Support: Act as the first point of contact for error reporting and provide technical support to users.
  9. Department Collaboration: Foster positive relationships with all departments and colleagues to facilitate smooth IT operations.
  10. Reporting: Report directly to the IT Manager on various IT support activities and issues.
  11. Back-up Operations: Conduct daily backup operations to safeguard data.
  12. Technical Documentation: Manage and maintain technical documentation related to IT systems and processes.
  13. Printer Maintenance: Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot printers to ensure efficient operation.
Qualifications and Experience
  • A degree or certification in IT is required.
  • Certifications such as A+, N+, and MCSE are preferred.
  • The ideal candidate should have advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and other day-to-day software.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, working with environments of 20+ PCs is required.
  • Own transport is required for this position.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office are essential.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Server and Desktop software is essential.
  • Linux OS knowledge is advantageous.
Estimated Salary: R250,000 - R350,000 per annum
