Job Description

Mayfly Agri (Pty) Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Advisor - Agrochemical Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive crop programs, ensuring the successful implementation of these programs, and monitoring sales team performance to promote in-house products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Crop Program Development: Develop and implement area-specific or crop-specific strategies in collaboration with Regional Managers and Advisory Manager to achieve sales targets.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support to Crop Advisors through training and on-field analysis across all product classes.
  • Customer Service: Investigate and address customer complaints that may lead to a claim, following the correct claim procedure to log a claim.
  • Sales Strategy: Work closely with the Advisory Manager to compile a sales strategy for the Advisory Team.
  • Product Promotion: Interact with key influencers in the industry to promote in-house products and grow the existing client base.
  • Lead Generation: Act on leads for new products or new programs based on the specifics of a crop or region.
  • Performance Monitoring:
  • Reporting: Ensure implementation of recommendations is carried out by the Crop Advisors and communicate progress and results on a monthly basis to Management.
Requirements:
  • Education: B.Agric/B.Sc Agric degree
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years post-graduate experience in the agricultural industry in Nutrition and/or agrochemicals and/or agriculture
  • Accreditation: BASOS accreditation and willingness to acquire AVCASA accreditation within a reasonable period
  • Skills: Technical and agrochemical knowledge, computer literacy in MS Office, and knowledge of.NET
  • Communication: Good communication skills, specifically in English and Afrikaans, with the ability to interface with internal and external stakeholders of all levels
Working Conditions:
  • Travel: Must have a valid driver's license, own reliable transport, and be able to travel to support allocated Crop Advisors and service cross-border clients
