**Key duties and responsibilities**:

**Fixed Asset Register**
- Create & Monitor systems of controls, procedures, and forms for the recording of fixed assets.
- Assign tag numbers for fixed assets.
- Record fixed assets acquisitions and disposals in the accounting system.
- Track the compilation of the project costs into the fixed asset accounts and close out those once the related projects have been completed.
- Calculate depreciation for all fixed assets.
- Review and update the detailed schedule of fixed assets and accumulated depreciation.
- Conduct periodic impairment reviews for intangible assets.
- Conduct periodic physical counts of fixed assets.
- Recommend to management whether fixed assets should be disposed of.
- Conduct analysis related to fixed assets as requested by management.
- Prepare audit schedules relating to fixed assets and assist auditors with their queries
- Conduct regular audits and assets verifications visits at various regions
- Maintain a non-asset listing per project of all tangible items in excess of a unit cost of between R1,000.00 and R4,999.00

**Sub Recipient Support**
- Assist Management with Sub recipient visits.
- Conduct checks and review sub recipient controls as well as quality of information provided to Prime.
- Check the quality of financial reporting provided and if it agrees with information provided to Prime.

**Other Responsibilities**
- Assist Accountant with preparation of the annual financial statements for statutory and donor audits.
- Assist the accountant with other adhoc reviews or financial reporting requirements.
- Perform monthly accounts payable recons to ensure completeness and balance.

**Essential qualifications, skills and experience**:

- Accounting degree/diploma or equivalent qualification
- 3 years bookkeeping experience to trial balance for multi project
- Experience in fixed assets and inventory
- Pastel Evolution experience
- Deadline driven
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to work independently and as part of the team
- Financial processing experience
- Proficiency in Excel and Word
