- The provision of sound information and advice to all levels of management for their consideration and decision making in the fields of: occupational health and safety,
- environmental compliance; and quality management
- such that stakeholder compliance (Authorities, Group, Divisional and Unit Stakeholders) is achieved as mandated by the Executive.

**Qualification Requirements**
- Minimum of National Diploma in Industrial/Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum of certificate in Safety Management
- Minimum of NOSA-SAMTRAC
- Minimum NOSA-L3 Incident Investigation
- Preferred: Certificate for conducting internal audits on the prevailing versions of ISO 9001, ISO14001 and ISO45001
- Preferred: Diploma in production and or people management (e.g. PMI, Damelin)
- Preferred: South African Council for Project and Construction Management Professions (SACPCMP) Registered Construction Health and Safety Manager (CHSM)
- Knowledge & Experience Sound knowledge relating to the development, implementation, maintenance and management of all aspects concerning organizational Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality matters
- Experienced in conducting SHE incident investigations
- Experienced in facilitating and conducting HIRA
- Experienced in managing and conducting internal audits (Integrated Management System (IMS))
- Experienced in managing and conducting root cause analysis (Integrated Management System (IMS))
- Experienced report writing (e.g. feedback letters, technical reports & proposals, justification letters etc.)
- Experienced and self-sufficient in the use of MS Office (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point etc.) and SharePoint
- Experienced in researching SHEQ and related matters
- Working knowledge of construction work and construction regulations
- Working knowledge in generating Client Construction Baseline Risk Assessment and Construction Health and Safety Specifications
- Working knowledge of reviewing and authorizing Contractor Construction Safety Files
- Working knowledge of Monthly Construction Contractor Safety File Compliance
- Working knowledge of expediting the submission of completed Construction Safety Files (Including approval of content prior acceptance)

**Responsibilities Functions & Tasks**
- Provide specialist; safety, health, environmental and quality; advice and information to the Executive, SHEQ Manager and all other internal parties for their consideration and decision making
- Design, implement and maintain a certified and legally compliant Integrated Management System (IMS) in accordance with the prevailing versions of ISO9001, ISO14001 and ISO45001 and local legislation as amended
- Ensure all senior legal appointments are current, i.e. s16(2), GMR2(1), SHE Sub Committee Chairperson
- Develop, implement, maintain and improve a documented emergency plan for all sites
- Through the review of operational records, ensure the validity of the emergency team members for all the Unit’s sites
- Ensure the necessary registration and notification of the Unit’s Major Hazardous Installations (MHI) to the authorities are current and in line with the MHI Regulations
- Ensure that the necessary MHI Risk assessments are conducted and in line with the MHI Regulations, and that the results are issued to the responsible s16(2) and GMR2(1) appointees for their implementation
- Ensure that the simulated emergency drill for the Unit’s MHI is conducted in line with the MHI Regulations
- Ensure all discipline Sustainability reporting deliverables are provided as per Unit, Divisional and Group dead-lines
- Ensure all discipline monthly reports and dashboards are provided as per Unit, Divisional and Group requirements and dead-lines
- Provide specialist oversight and advisory role into incident investigations
- Act as the liaison officer between the Department of Employment and Labour and the Unit in terms of Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations incidents and audits
- Act as the liaison officer between the Environmental Management Inspectorate in terms of National Environmental Management Act and associated Acts and Regulations in terms of incidents and audits
- Compile and furnish specialist discipline reports as requested by the Executive and SHEQ Manager
- Ensure that the operational, high level, Unit specific risk assessments are conducted and issued to the responsible s16(2) and GMR2(1) appointees for implementation
