**Position**: SHEQ Manager (Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality)

**Location**: Johannesburg

KnM Human Capital is looking for an experienced SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality) Manager to join our client's Construction and maintenance solutions team. The SHEQ Manager will play a crucial role in preventing workplace incidents and promoting SHEQ awareness among employees. Leading a team of specialists, including Safety Officers and Quality Representatives, the manager will foster a culture focused on safety and quality throughout projects and the organization. By ensuring compliance with global and local standards, the SHEQ Manager will work closely with senior management to implement and maintain effective SHEQ policies, driving continuous improvement and best practices.

**Responsibilities**
- Plan, direct, and implement organizational SHEQ programs
- Manage and report on the Industrial Division Safety and Quality teams
- Develop and implement safety policies.
- Design and deliver safety training on workplace hazards and fire prevention
- Analyze industrial accidents and health hazards, reporting trends and issues
- Lead safety and environmental projects focused on achieving Zero Harm
- Conduct risk assessments and implement preventative measures following incidents
- Handle worker's compensation claims and propose SHEQ improvements
- Supervise Quality Control functions, including inspection schedules and documentation
- Allocate Quality Control personnel and oversee inspections
- Support Project/Construction Managers in client communications on quality matters
- Participate in internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with standards
- Manage equipment calibration and welding/NDT qualifications
- Analyze non-conformities and supervise the inspection of defect repairs
- Evaluate and approve Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS's)
- Promote and enforce SHEQ culture and continuous improvement throughout the organization

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Environmental Management, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field
- Safety Management Diploma/Degree
- Registration with SACPCMP (advantageous)
- Minimum 10 years combined experience: 5 years as Safety, Health, and Environmental Manager & 5 years as QA/QC Manager
- Extensive knowledge of SHEQ systems in heavy industrial environments, including strategic SHEQ frameworks and Industrial Safety and Construction Regulations
- Develop, implement, and maintain SHEQ policies and procedures in line with regulatory requirements and industry best practices
- Stay updated on relevant legislation, standards, and industry trends related to SHEQ
- Develop and deliver training programs to staff on SHEQ policies and procedures.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses; prepare reports and recommendations for corrective actions.
- Monitor and report on SHEQ performance metrics, ensuring continuous improvement.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies and ensure timely reporting of SHEQ incidents and compliance audits.
