We are looking for an individual who is dependable and willing to assume a variety of duties within the Dye House Department. The individual must be skilled in the following activities: Load the dye machine, operate the machine efficiently and either operate the dyeing machine or Hydro extractor.

**The incumbent will be responsible for the following**:
**Productivity**:

- Operate wet process machine (Thies & Pandora) as per Work instruction.
- Run machinery efficiently & respond to alarms timeously
- Effectively resolve stoppages to minimise downtime & increase productivity in wet & hydroextractor
- Minimise waste from leader cloth by cutting the correct length 3m and not more
- Be proactive in minimising downtime, e.g., making sure the next load is available and the correct one
- Focus on “do-it-right-the-first-time” to decrease redyes & increase efficiency on the hydroextractor
- Complete required documentation to ensure records are maintained for continual improvement.

**Quality**:

- Continuously patrol & inspect the running of fabric & foam to avoid jam ups that may cause unlevel dyeing.
- Identify & rectify running issues to avoid redyes - Report recurring machine faults & problems to Head Operator minimise downtime & redyes. - Check actual vs product specifications, i.e., pattern, piece number, size & weight according to job card
- Make sure the piece is straight on the hydroextractor cloth to avoid rejects due to skew units.

**Caretaker**:

- Regularly clean the machinery & equipment to reduce stoppages & make fault identification easier.
- Report any abnormal noise, vibration, or machine behaviour to prevent damage to the equipment.
- Ensure oil & air leaks are reported & addressed ASAP to minimise down time & breakdowns.
- Remove dirty filters on the machine, replace with clean ones & wash the dirty ones to improve liquor circulation.

**Qualifications/Training**:

- Grade 12
- Must have at least 1 years’ experience in the Dye House environment
- Excellent attention to detail skills - Good Housekeeping skills
- Good Communication and Interpersonal skills
