**Overview and overall objectives**:
**The role of the social media manager is to**:
Manage Penquin’s internal and external digital assets, which includes the management of all client’s social media platforms.
Contribute to the management and growth of clients and partners as may be identified by Penquin.
Conceptualise strategy and campaigns, as well as manage the curation process of relevant content based on clients KPI agreements with the agency.
Monthly reporting on the performance of all social assets.
Manage creative and production process on all digital marketing and advertising elements utilising studio and account team services.
Social media planning, buying and implementation.
Managing the social media team and working closely with the digital and social media director to ensure high-quality social media services are delivered to our clients.
Delivery and project management
Devise strategies to deliver on relevant client social media objectives.
Ensure quality and consistent content is developed in accordance with identified objectives and according to Penquin’s and client’s required standards.
Due to the dynamic nature of social media, all planning and strategy must factor in a degree of flexibility in order to adapt to adhoc/unforeseen situations that may arise.
Overseeing the social media strategies and ensuring that they align with the brand and its positioning.
Managing online brand and product campaigns to build and maintain brand awareness and social presence. This includes insight into the monitoring and management of Google Analytics and AdWords campaigns as well integration with other online advertising.
Working closely with the client service and Production team to ensure social media is understood and becomes an integral part of planning.
Create and/or oversee content for online platforms, including both design and writing elements.
Ensure the growth and management of online communities through social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus, Instagram, LinkedIn etc. is optimal and in keeping with Penquin and client standard and objectives.
Overseeing the community management process to ensure that audience feedback and commentary (both positive and negative) are handled efficiently and according to Penquin standards.
Keeping up to date with advances in social media and the latest digital media platforms.
Continuous research into new relevant social media channels and online technologies, and their impact on the brands.
Continuous research into various avenues unrelated to social media which may yield unique opportunities.
Collating of and reporting on monthly performance analytics for all digital communications across all channels, using these analytics to influence future digital activity.
Identify and build relationships with key social media influencers within the defined markets

**Develop strategies that**:
Deliver on client and campaign objectives.
Maximise exposure and ROI for clients.
Are unique and differentiate the agency as a leader in the social and digital media space.
As part of the pitch process or onboarding of new clients, execute and present on social media audits for new clients, and existing clients where applicable.
Client management
Present strategies and campaigns to new and existing clients.
Ensure accurate briefs are presented to creative studio and briefed into CHASE.
Ability to manage all aspects of client campaigns, from planning to delivery and post campaign reporting and debrief.
Ability to attend client meetings, take a brief and assist in developing creative solutions.
Find solutions to client problems.
Compile competitor reviews.
Ability to multitask between a variety of tasks across the teams, and within the social media team.
Ability to listen to the clients’ requirements and propose further enhancements to the project in order to meet the client’s business objectives.
Proactively pursue an in-depth knowledge of the client’s business in order to entrench yourself in the client’s social media strategy.
Constantly provide clients with better alternatives, suggestions and ideas on how to further enhance the client’s business strategy.

**Production process**:
Ability to manage social media team and stay on top of all new and existing jobs.
Compiling presentations and costing proposals.
Maintaining social media project plans.
Managing social media project budgets with the social media specialist and traffic manager.
Experience Level

At least 3-5 years’ experience working on social media - Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn
Drivers licence and own vehicle
Skills and personal characteristics required
Must be active in social media and understand the digital landscape and its audiences.
Must understand both the SA and global social media landscape.
Strategic and creative thinker that can assess client needs and produce required work to deliver on their objectives
