PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

To source and maintain a range of FMCG products by ensuring that the commodities are acceptable to the PEP consumer market. The products selected must contribute to the profit margin and price points of PEP in accordance to the departmental directive.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Supplier management (sourcing and loading)
- Range building (Product sourcing & range development)
- Product determination
- Product order management (Administration)
- Budget management and OTB control
- Research about target market and competitiveness

JOB INCUMBENT REQUIREMENTS:

- Relevant Degree (e.g. Consumer Science) or Diploma (e.g. Clothing / Purchasing Management)
- At least 5-7 years experience as fully fledged buyer in an FMCG environment,
- FMCG buying experience essential; parallel imports experience advantageous
- Experience in confectionery, snacks and beverages.
- Computer Literacy (MS Office)
- Creative, eye for detail and analytical
- Willingness to travel
- Competencies required: Accuracy, Directing, Negotiation, Results-oriented, Persuasiveness, Commercial Drive, Initiative, Analysing and forming opinions.
