We are looking for a detail-oriented reservation agent to assist our customers with their booking needs. You will provide various planning and booking services, including answering customers’ questions, booking rooms and additional services, and making travel suggestions and arrangements. In addition, you will assist customers regarding wedding, elopement, and MICE (business tourism) bookings and arrangements.

**Salary**:

- Grade 12

**Experience**:

- Experience working in sales, reservations, or public relations, preferably in the hospitality or travel industry, dealing directly with the general public
- A solid understanding of the reservations process
- Experience working on a reservations / booking system advantageous
- Knowledge of the hospitality industry and most importantly the accommodation sector advantageous

**Responsibilities**:

- Reservations:_
- Advise clients on availability and respond quickly with options and information
- Quote clients according to requirements
- Convert enquiries to confirmed bookings
- Upsell items according to destination capabilities
- Convert existing leads that are currently being generated through various business initiatives into sales (reservations)
- Proactively generate new business leads (B2C and B2B) and convert them into telesales (reservations)
- Proactively investigate new ways to grow and advance marketing and business development opportunities - effectively support the marketing role/s
- Gather and capture guest information for booking and confirmation purposes
- Ensure that guest details are captured correctly online, on the reservation system and / or wherever else such details are captured
- Primary responsibility for rates and packages: calculating rates, setting up rules per rate category, loading rates on reservation system and various platforms; checking rates ongoing as they pull through from various platforms to ensure they are correct
- Handle billing and check-out procedures and cancelation policy
- Handle daily management of the bank account statement in respect of payment allocations (ensuring all bank deposits are allocated to the relevant bookings on the system)
- Ensure that all deposits and final payments are up to date prior to the arrival of the booking
- Ensure all bookings are provisional until deposit received, then ensure bookings are confirmed once deposit received and allocated
- In regards to any online travel portals and platforms: ensure any and all transaction details are carried over to our reservation system and are correct, including credit card details, daily
- Respond to any and all online travel portals and platforms queries on a daily basis
- Make sure the destination/s have the correct billing instructions and invoice details
- Facilitate any credit card payments that are due, on a daily basis
- Provide guests with information on onsite facilities and activities
- All Reservation-related administration duties
- Handle any and all enquiries and business relationships in a professional, friendly, proactive manner that serves to engage clients, guests and partners in a way that promotes the best interests of the brand/s
- Update training manuals and How To Guides ongoing, as required
- General administration:_
- Update and maintain all online portals and websites in regards to rates and listing information and detail
- Reconcile online payments to bookings
- Invoices and statements for account holders
- STO contracts for operators, agents (set up, send, file and manage ongoing)

**Other**:

- This role cannot function effectively with a work backlog and the responsibility - to maintain all aspects, tasks and functions of the role in an ‘up-to-date and current’ status at all times - is on the Reservations Consultant

**Salary**: R11,000.00 - R16,000.00 per month
