**Overview**

The client is a software company head quartered in Berlin, Germany. The company operates in multiple territories, some of which include Honduras, Germany, Netherlands, USA and South Africa. They have grown significantly through organic growth and the company’s “buy and build” strategies.

They are expanding their presence in South Africa, with the aim of growing a Software Development team in South Africa. The Software Development team will design, develop and customise the groups product offerings to ensure continued growth, whilst the IT team will look to service the group’s Global DevOps and IT services.

The Global Head of Product and IT, will lead the Software Development and IT Teams for the globe and will have resources based in Germany, South Africa, Pakistan, Russia, Poland and the Netherlands. By virtue that this role is a Group role, means that the reporting structure will be a matrix structure with the role reporting into the Group CEO and various MD’s.

Key Technologies and Infrastructure that form heart and soul of this portfolio include but are not limited to:
1. Software Development:

- Java; Python, PHP, CPanel, React, NodeJS, JavaScript, Jenkins, GitLab/GitHub, Figma, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, WordPress

2. DevOps:

- AWS Hosting, AWS Firewalls, Cloud Services, AWS Docker Containers, VMWare, HyperV,

3. IT:

- Google Workspace, Active Directory, Office 365, Windows OS, Apple Mac, Lenovo, HP, Dell, Dialfire, Zoiper, Asterisk PABX, 3CX, Cambium Switches, Cambium Access Points, Cisco Meraki, BitLocker, Sentinel One.

**Responsibilities**

**A) Software/Product Development**

1. Craft and execute the Global Software/Product Development strategy in close partnership with the Group CEO, Business Unit MD’s and Leadership/Exco teams

2. Create a detailed 3 year, 1 year and quarterly product development pipeline for the groups products

3. Lead and manage software development teams to deliver on time and on budget product development initiatives

4. Derive Return on Investment and revenue growth models that showcase where product development investment should be channeled

6. Constantly optimise costs associated to developers and development times to ensure maximum productivity of all resources

7. Review and enhance Tech Debt, where MVP’s need to be fully transitioned into mature software code

8. Partner Cross-functionally to drive a result and deliver the Product Development Strategy

**B) Information Technology (IT)**

1. Craft and execute the IT strategy in close partnership with the Group CEO, Business Unit MD’s and Leadership/Exco teams

2. Craft a detailed 3 year, 1 year and quarterly IT plan that is underpinned by the Groups philosophy of “optimisation”.

3. Review existing technology platforms within the DevOps space and drive cost optimisation, resource optimisation and infrastructure optimisation

4. Balance investment with technology modernisation

5. Ensure optimal deployment of resources to service IT needs in the various markets

6. Constantly enhance, modernise and fine tune existing PABX, SIP and Network infrastructures

7. Define a roadmap for the full migration of AD into Google Workspace

8. Identify, Protect and Recover systems from cyber threats and attacks

9. Ensure optimal productivity of all IT resources in line with the Groups objectives

**Qualification and Skills**
- A degree in Computer Science and/or IT
- Network and IT certifications (N+, A+, Networking, Desktop Administration, etc)
- Project management certification will be advantageous Excellent written skills
- Excellent communication skills

**Experience**
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar or IT Executive role
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in IT management
- Experience managing Software Development teams
- Experience with matrix/cross functional group structures
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of cross-functional team

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: R120,000.00 - R150,000.00 per month
