Key Responsibilities:

- Safety Health & Environment

Responsible for the safety of all their subordinates.

Complete 5S audit schedule.

Responsible for clearing audit findings in the department.

Responsible for ensuring that the department adheres to ISO14001 policies and procedures.
- Quality

Responsible for the quality of parts being produced in the department.

Responsible for ensuring standardized work in the department.

Attend daily scrap meeting to identify problematic parts or processes for improvement.

Responsible for clearing audit findings in the department.

Responsible for ensuring that the department adheres to IATF 16949 policies and procedures.
- Stable Production

Ensure all policies and procedures are strictly adhered to in the department.

Prior to shift start up:
▪ Ensure shift handover book is completed accurately.

▪ Update change point management board.

Shift start up:
▪ Ensure a smooth shift start up.

▪ Responsible for allocating labour as per the skills matrix and attendance.

▪ Ensure adherence to the production plan.

▪ Ensure Escalation procedure is followed in your departments to enable decisive decision making. STOP CALL

WAIT

▪ Submission of end of shift checklist and report to Manager.
- Communication

Ensure the Supervisor Visual Management Board is updated at all times.

Ensure green area meetings are conducted effectively to a fixed agenda by the Team Leader.
- PM of Equipment and Repair of Tools

Develop and implement a tool maintenance plan and a Toolroom equipment maintenance plan.

Ensure that tool maintenance plan accommodates breakdown requirements.

Analyse reasons for breakdowns and ensure that repaired tools meet design standards and build in mistake

proofing.
- HRD

Ensure there is an effective and cost-efficient structure in place.

Ensure all subordinates have job descriptions, KPIs and training needs analysis.

Responsible for ensuring accurate and updated Skills matrix is available in the department.

Coach, train and mentor subordinates in both class room and OJT scenarios.

Responsible for ensuring succession planning for all critical positions.

Ensure that all employees have the tools and equipment to perform their jobs.

Ensure that the appropriate work processes are in place and understood.

Ensure the correct procedures are followed when initiating disciplinary action in conjunction with HR.

Monitor time and attendance.

Responsible for submission of leave forms, overtime forms, shift rosters and daily sign on sheets to payroll.

Responsible for resolving payroll queries with HR.

Ensure that the practical on the job training for apprentices is effective and meets Merseta requirements.

Ensure regular feedback is given to all employees regarding the performance of the company.

**Requirements**:

- Trade Tested Tool Jig & Die Maker
- 15 years’ experience in Tool Jig & Die Making in an automotive manufacturing environment.
- Must have worked extensively with progression press tooling.
