We are looking to appoint a Medical Digital & IT Director accountable for strategic partnering with the Region level Medical, for driving digital health initiatives and for enabling digital transformation of the medical affairs function to embrace omnichannel engagement with HCPs.

International Commercial consists of markets in Asia, MEA, LATAM and Russia with a revenue of close to USD 7bn. International is a dynamic, collaborative and fast-growing business.

**Role background**

At AstraZeneca, our IT organisation is pushing the boundaries of technology to enable the digitisation and transformation of the business. In Commercial IT, we are focussed on smoothing the Patient and HCP journey through Digital Innovation and supporting the growth of the business through impactful launches, field effectiveness and digital/multi-channel capabilities - all founded on deep partnerships with our business colleagues. Our internal capabilities are predominantly created and delivered by our global IT organisations and are cloud based and mobile enabled - this includes Infrastructure.

This role works with the Region Medical leadership team to shape the organisation’s future through the implementation of innovative new technologies to support the productivity of the Medical organisation and improve patient outcomes by piloting and scaling digital health initiatives. The role will drive the IT vision and strategy and business transformation for the Region Medical and ensure team and individual performance to deliver the business strategy and objectives. The role will transform HCP engagement models by embedding omnichannel ways of working in both field and office based medical roles. The role partners with the leadership team to identify portfolio priorities and areas for innovation.

The role also provides leadership in the area of real-world data enablement - both external data and internal data - to drive evidence generation and policy shaping.

**Accountabilities**
- Establish and maintain strategic partnering with Region Medical leadership team - contributing to the definition and delivery of strategy. Support business change, acting as a single point of contact for senior stakeholders, facilitating synergies and alignment across the area.
- Work with the business area to develop strategy and portfolio performance metrics and ensure development of customer scorecards. Define and monitor the delivery of value through IT projects and initiatives.
- Partner with the region and markets on areas of opportunity for Innovation including oversight of innovative POCs and portfolio to meet digital health ambition and targets outlined at region level
- Work with Medical and the digital and startup ecosystems networking to create partnerships and capabilities which can benefit the patient journey.
- Lead the proactive identification of opportunities for innovative solutions to Patient, HCP and internal customer issues/challenges.
- Assess, prioritise and effectively communicate customer needs, and initiate projects in partnership with the International Region IT and Global IT teams.
- Encourage proactive collaboration and communication between markets in International (and beyond) to ensure identification of best practice and synergies.
- Proactively engage with Global IT, Global Medical and GCD to ensure that global plans are developed with an appropriate understanding of the Region Medical strategy, business requirements and constraints
- Oversee the delivery of the capability projects into the markets with quality, in partnership with business change leaders.
- Drive transparency on exploitation of digital and omni channel capabilities, increasing the value achieved from these investments.
