KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY - Assisting the Safety & Security Supervisor and SHE Manager in extending and maintaining a professional and comprehensive occupational health, safety, hygiene and environmental program according to the OHS Act and SHE Standards. - Supervising and supporting the site Firemen and Cleaner in their functions. - Monitor and enforce compliance to all SHE policies, procedures, standards and legislative aspects. - Manage and maintain the site security CCTV and electric fence systems. - Manage and maintain the outsourced security SLA and function. - Manage contractors & SHE related projects and permits, including recordkeeping of the required documentation. - Coordinate all SHE external training. - Preparing for / chairing SHE Committee meetings when required. - Present internal induction and safety training to all employees and contractors. - Conduct periodic environmental, health and safety audits and inspections. - Report and assist with incident investigations and implementation of corrective actions as required. - Analyse and evaluates hazardous conditions, recommend controls and assist in HIRA formulation. - Assists with the formulation of standard operating procedures / safe work procedures. - Performs and assist with job observations and competency evaluations. - Collect and maintain data essential for running an effective SHE program - record keeping. - Compile weekly/monthly SHE reports and feedback. - Monitor and control of the general housekeeping of the premises. - Implementation and maintenance of the SHE department’s BRC requirements and standards. - Implementation and maintenance of the SHE department’s Quality Management Systems. - Monitoring and enforcing the use of PPE / PPC. - Assist with visitor tours. - Daily problem solving. - Adhere to all safety procedures and instructions.

KEY JOB REQUIREMENTS - Matric (Grade 12) - Good communication skills - Computer literate - Valid Drivers License - At least 5 years occupational health and safety practical experience in a competitive industrial environment.

**Job Type**: Permanent

**Salary**: R23,000.00 - R25,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Germiston, Gauteng: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

**Education**:

- Diploma (preferred)

**Experience**:

- occupational health & safety practical: 5 years (required)
