Join Our Team as a Senior Market Analyst

We are seeking an exceptional and strategic Senior Market Analyst to join our Marketing and Logistics team. This dynamic role will place you at the heart of critical decision-making, where your market analysis expertise will directly influence our pricing strategies, product mix optimization, and the overall market approach across all geographies and segments. You will be the analytical champion driving initiatives that contribute to the company’s earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) targets.

- BCom (Hons) (Relevant) (Essential/Minimum or)
- B Eng (Relevant) (Essential/Minimum or)
- B Degree (Hons) (Relevant) (Essential/Minimum)
- Management Development Programme (Recommended/Desirable)

**EXPERIENCE**:
8 years Relevant commercial, research and development (Value-in-Use), marketing and sales, business analytics, process development and ownership, strategic analysis and design experience. Relevant experience in investment banking, asset management or research house. Strong analytical, problem solving, critical thinking, communication and collaboration skills (Essential/Minimum) Management

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- To be the analytical champion within the Marketing and Logistics department, supporting the department on pricing, price/product mix optimums, scenario modelling, and assisting the Marketing team (customer facing) in increasing visibility, distribution, and market share, tracking initiatives that contribute to earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) targets.
- To assume responsibility for process development, ownership and leadership in market intelligence, relevant intelligence impacting Stakeholder management, Market to Resource Optimisation (Marketing element), Risk Management, Strategic Planning, Business Planning, Budgeting and Business Performance Management.
- To take on the strategic role of performing market analysis across all geographies and market segments, to compile and propose a market strategy for the relevant function within the Marketing and Logistics department for discussion and implementation by the Marketing team, and for submission to the Coal Operations Committee/Executive Committee.
- To take full ownership of, and independently execute strategic initiatives assigned to the position as the strategic agenda unfolds.
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Identify, develop and implement necessary processes to enhance Marketing and Logistics department’s performance.
- Build & manage the data platform necessary to run analysis and generate insight - directly manage data providers.
- Identify opportunities and challenges; quantify the opportunities; prioritise and provide solutions to overcome challenges or maximise opportunities.
- Marketing development analysis (by customer, by channel, by distribution point, etc.)
